Why not? They would find out sooner or later..

by Razvan
(Zalau, Romania)

I actually worked for a company that required to see my salary history. I agreed, and let me tell you why. I`m from Romania, and here every person that ever worked, has a "worker card" (carte de munca) where all his history as an employee is written. When he got hired, when was his salary raised, what income did he have... everything. And when you start your work in a new company, you must give that "worker card" to the accountant of that company. So, you cannot keep those information secret, because the accountant can see in that card all the incomes I`ve ever had. The company that requested me to present them my whole salary history, offered an 300$/ month income. I had to accept, because my funds were running out... and I needed a job fast. I worked for them almost 11 months. I do not think that my salary histories must be kept secret. i mean.. I worked for that money.. so what if they know how much I earned before I went working for them? But then again this is only my opinion.
Very interesting subject... Good job.
